The Realm of Sociality: Notes on the Design of Social Software

This articles discusses social software systems, where it mentions that it is not software as such. Wenger say that sociality can not be designed, can only be designed for, talks of a conceptual model based on the sociability which mentions what is the importance of social software systems to trigger social behavior.

Social software enables social relations in cyberspace, for example people who participate in social activities, some examples are: LinkedIn, del.icio.us, Flickr, Wikipedia, Facebook and Last.fm. These serve to proportional services Communication, interaction or relationships in one way or another, is also there are people who use the services such as blogs, forums or wiki to create groups where you can have a share at any time.

Instead Friendster and Twitter.com are social networks where users can meet people openly post any comment. Last.fm is a social network where people know the same kind of music you hear and know that friends are listening to, is a social network directly to the musical taste of the people.

All this is done based on a design framework, in the conceptual model for designers to know what kind of development will make your software.
